P. erhielt 1845 die Pries…terweihe, wurde aber wegen seiner politischen Ansichten von dem Bischof von St. Pölten, wo er 1850 in die Diözese eingetreten war, von seinen priesterlichen Funktionen suspendiert. Er wurde schließlich nach jahrelangen Verhandlungen rehabilitiert und zeitgleich nach Pest übersetzt, wo er schließlich die theologische Doktorwürde erlangte. P. gab mehrere Porträtsammlungen heraus.
