Vol. I: 182pp; Vol. II: 216pp. TEXT IN FRENCH. Top edges gilt. Front boards show image of the crucifixion, rear boards of the resurrection. Numerous full-page illustrations by Edy-Legrand in both monochrome and colour. Includes reproductions of six leaves from the autograph manuscript of Thomas a Kempis, which contains the pamphlets called the "Imitation du Christ". Initial letters of each chapter printed in red. Lacks original slipcase. A few very minor signs of wear to edges and corners of covers, where surface leather is a little rubbed; spines slightly faded; very faint spots of foxing to first couple of leaves of volume II.
