    Condition: Fair. 1894. First Edition. 311 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with gilt lettering. Black and white illustrations. Erratum label to 1st contents page. Inscription to front pastedown and endpaper. Pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm, although considerable cracks to guttering of page 311, with exposed netting. Notable tears to page IX of contents, repaired with tape. Boards have been moderately rub worn. Noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed Spine ends are considerably crushed, with noticeable splits and chips. Large and heavy water staining all over. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.
