Der Verfasser wendet sich gegen attizistische Puristen und vertritt die für ihre Zeit erstaunlich moderne Auffassung, das Griechisch des Neuen Testaments sei nicht weniger griechisch", sondern lediglich weniger attisch" (non tanquam minus graecas, sed tanquam minus Atticas"). - Mit zahlreichen griechischen Zitaten und Bezugnahmen auf Demosthenes, Herodot, Pindar, Theokrit, Arrian, Polybios und andere Autoren. Diskutiert werden u. a. die Begriffe ???????, ????????? und ????????? im Spannungsfeld von Sprachgeschichte, Exegese und protestantischer Kirchenauffassung. Interessantes Dokument protestantischer Bibelphilologie und früher historischer Sprachbetrachtung an der Universität Wittenberg. - Der aus Breslau stammende Respondent Gottfried Preuß (16571735) studierte seit 1679 in Wittenberg, erwarb dort 1683 den Magistergrad und trat 1684 mehrfach mit philologischen Disputationen hervor, bevor er später als Diakon und Pastor in Rothenburg/Oberlausitz wirkte. - Broschur, aus einem Sammelband ausgebunden, Seiten leicht gedunkelt, erstes Blatt mit kleinem Randknick unten, ansonsten gut.
