Harry Furniss (1854 â" 1925) was a British illustrator. He established his career on the Illustrated London News before moving to Punch. He also illustrated Lewis Carroll's novel Sylvie and Bruno. His first job as an illustrator was for the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, and when it was purchased by the owner of The Illustrated London News he moved to that magazine. Original Wrappers. Condition: Very Good binding. First Edition. Nice copy in the original card stock wrappers, which have been repaired at the spine. The dustjacket is present, and has been protected with a new mylar cover. There is some old tape stain to the endpapers. The bookplate of Frances Amelia Adams (engraved by Edwin Davis French) in on the front pastedown. Overall an attractive and serviceable copy of a scarce book on Italian ex libris. Very Good binding.
