The novel was first published in 1949 and was a Newbery Honor recipient in 1950. Very Good condition book in Very Good condition dust wrapper with old dried sello removed from around the spine ends leaving a little yellowing of the paper to these areas, short closed tear to the foot of the front fore edge, not price clipped 9s 6d. Dust wrapper supplied in archive acetate film protection, this preserves and prolongs the life of the paper, it is not adhered to the book or to the dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A.
