Die Konkurrenz der Länder ist inso weit zur Konkurrenz von Standorten innerhalb großer Wirtschaftsregionen geworden. Die Wirtschaftspolitik hat auf diese Herausforderungen mit regionalen Integrationsvor haben reagiert, die schon seit längerer Zeit in Europa und jüngst auch in Nordamerika zur Bildung länderübergreifender Wirtschaftsverbünde geführt haben. Der Verfasser der vorliegenden Dissertation über die Entstehung und die zukünftige Entwicklung der Nordamerikanischen Freihandelszone (NAFT A) besitzt als ein an der Technischen Hochschule Darmstadt ausgebildeter Wirtschaftsingenieur sowohl betriebs und gesamtwirtschaftliche als auch die technischen Grundlagen, die zur Analyse eines solch komplexen Integrationsverbundes notwendig sind Von besonderer Bedeutung ist seine Auffassung, daß einzelwirtschaftliche Faktoren in starkem Maße Motive zur Bil dung dieses Integrationsverbundes waren, und daß als wichtigstes Ergebnis dieses Ver bundes eine weitergehende Dynamisierung und Modernisierung der Unternehmerischen Verhaltensweisen in Nordamerika erwartet werden kann.
