Edizione originale, rara, di questo saggio sull'ordinamento monarchico dell'abate gerosolimitano Prospero Betti. La pubblicazione trovo' ampio risalto nei giornali napoletani dell'epoca, in una logica di presa diÂposizione controrivoluzionaria o di esaltazione monarchica. Nell'agosto del 1793 un breve commento segnalava leÂMeditazioniÂdell'abateÂProspero Betti,Âpubblicate da Vincenzo Flauto, nelle quali "egregiamente prova che lo spirito della Monarchia e' lo spirito della societa', ed in conseguenza non puo' a verun titolo diminuirsi, senza diminuire, ed annientare i diritti della stessa societa', che sono immedesimati con quelli della Monarchia, e che ogni attentato, che si commetta contro di questaÂe' sempre contrario alla societa', alla religione,Âalla giustizia, ed all'onore, che ne sono i fondamenti; ed e' un insulto temerario contro la Divinita'.".
