Eugene E. Prussing was a prominent Chicago and Hollywood lawyer who was born July 12, 1855 and attended the University of Michigan's law school in Ann Arbor. Prussing spent half of the year in Evanston and the other half in Hollywood, California. Prussing was a co-founder of the Law Club and the Judges' Table at the Union League Club. He wrote a pamphlet entitled "Making Trust Companies Universal," which was adopted as an act in Illinois in 1887 and 1889 and copied by many other states and countries. Other writings were "Chicago's First Great Lawsuit," about the Forsyth et al. vs. Nash case, George Washington in Love and Otherwise (1925), and The Estate of George Washington, deceased (1927). The author, a lawyer, writes about George Washington as an administrator of his own large property holdings and his provisions for their disposition and administration after his death. The book discusses the substance of the will, how it came to be made, by whom it was written and when, who the executors were and why, of what the estate consisted of, etc. The book is illustrated with many photo facsimiles of the will itself as well as four maps (two of them folding).
