Erstausgabe. - Der Schriftsteller Christian Leberecht Heyne (1751-1821) studierte in Leipzig Rechtswissenschaften und arbeitete 1787 als Privatsekretär in Halle. Seit 1788 lebte er in Berlin, Rochlitz und Geringswalde. 1798 schrieb er als Auftragsarbeit orientalische Märchen für einen Buchhändler in Altenburg. Seit 1805 zunehmend an einer psychischen Erkrankung leidend, verbrachte er die letzten Jahre seines Lebens in ärmlichen Verhältnissen.
