Heavy wear too the top and bottom of the spine ends. Wear at the corners. With some leaching to the cloth (2" x 2") on the left top corner of the rear panel. Discrete bookplate on the front paste-down. With 19 illustrations plus 4 pages of publisher's ads in the rear. Some light chipping and tears to the top edges of the frontispiece. Front signature separating. Slight musty smell. First Edition with matching dates of 1888 on the title and copyright pages.

Covers worn at the extremities with few pinholes to the joints, text block sound, pages uniformly lightly foxed, front free endpaper removed, name of F. H.
