    In 8° (19,5x11,5 cm); 47, (1) pp. Legatura coeva in cartoncino rigido rosso con cornici dorate ai piatti. Qualche traccia di sporco e segno del tempo. All'interno un piccolo strappetto con perdita di carta all'angolo basso bianco di pagina 13, ininfluente e lontano dal testo. Prima rarissima edizione di questo scritto dedicato ai duelli scritto dal noto personaggio napoletano, Luca Puoti che fu Uditore del Consiglio di Stato e membro della Società Pontaniana. Il libello prende avvio da un fatto di sangue che molto colpì l'immaginario collettivo nel primo trentennio del XIX° secolo e cioè, la morte in duello del Conte Giovanni d'Aragona. Nel libello, Puoti propone una legge a Ferdinando II di Borbone, utile per cercare di metter un freno legale ai duelli che si susseguono nel territorio delle Due Sicilie. L'autore, dopo un introduzione sulle conseguenze dei duelli arriva ad esporre, per punti, una nuova legge. Si legge ad esempio: Articolo XI, Tutti i così detti maestri di scherma sia di sciabola o di spada non potranno dar più lezioni del loro mestiere, che ai soli militari che debbono usar le armi per natura del loro uffizio. Se infrangeranno questo comando e si troveranno ad insegnare a semplici cittadini, condannati saranno alla pena di anni 5 di prigionia ; Articolo XIII, Colla presente legge sono anche proibite come adunanze illecite le così dette accademie di scherma, menochè per i militari che ne debbono sapere per loro mestiere Scritto molto raro dedicato ai duelli all'arma bianca e con la pistola.
