INSCRIBED by Gundersen "To Mrs. C. Stuart Gager with high esteem" dated December 1950. Gager (1872-1943) was the director of the New York Botanical Garden; the book is co-dedicated to him. Gundersen was Curator of Plants at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Hardcover, full blue buckram, gilt titling, as pictured. General wear, light rubbing; no jacket, likely as issued. Text clean; [xviii], 238 pages, index, bibliography, very clear b/w technical drawings. Size: 6½" by 9¼". Inscribed by the Author.
