Maximilien Quenum (1911-?), a member of the Fon of Dahomey, wrote this important work concerning their history, religion, art, life, etc. Occasional spotting…in the text, a very nice copy of the first edition in the publisher's printed stiff wrappers. Innen sind die Tafeln teils etwas stockfleckig, oft auch die diese umgebenden Textseiten. Ansonsten sauber und vollständig. Die sehr seltene Erstausgabe als Hauptbestandteil der Nummern 2 und 3 dieses 'Bulletin du .' . Enthalten ist weiterhin ein 17seitiger Text von A. Basset - "Parlers touaregs du Soudan Niger", ebenfalls mit fotogr. Abb. Es gab dann in späteren Jahren mehrere Neuauflagen dieses wichtigen Werkes zu den Fon.
