Add to basketHardcover. First Edition. Bookplate of Sir Roland Burrows, an extremely influential Q.C. sitting on numerous enquiries and government boards, pasted to inside of front cover. Burrows wrote several legal texts including "Words and Phrases Judicially Defined" and was Chief editor of Halsbury's Statutes of England. This is the more expensive issue of Notable British Trials series in a more substantial binding with gilt lettering on the spine. 10 b&w photographs. There is a small correction in the list of illustrations, crossing out "K.C" after the name of Roome and also on the portrait of him. Another illustration is detached but present. Spine has some fading, turning of the foot and top, which also has a couple of small closed tears. There is a pale read stain around the bottom fore-corner of the text block and some faint stains on the spine, but not very noticable. The free endpapers are foxed. Otherwise very good indeed.
