    Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. 1st Edition. In a red cloth hardcover with gilt titles to spine. No dust jacket. 381 pp. with 23 black and white illustrations. The book is in fair condition. There is minor shelf-wear to the extremities of the cover, the spine is lightly sunned and there are a few very minor marks to the boards. The hinges are cracked and the binding slack. There is a bookplate to the front paste down, otherwise the pages are clean and unmarked. Gift Aid no. 1712. A good overall first edition copy but missing the dustcover and with extensive pencil underlining, owner inscription and knock to the rear edge of the spine.
