Rare autobiography of an incredibly adventurous life covering, the Klondyke gold rush, the founding days of Elisabethville (now Lubumbashi in Zaire), prospecting in Africa, British Columbia, World war one in Kenya etc. etc.

No Jacket. 1st Edition. the original boards are shelf rubbed and the spine is knocked. there is some staining affecting a few pages. the book is complete with all plates. a previous owner's inscription. the binding is excellent. Cloth clean and smart, some minor darkening/ foxing spots to outer edges of pageblock. Some occasional foxing to inside pages, with some areas of darker foxing to pages opposite plates, including main title page opposite frontis.
