First Edition
Paperback. 4to. Stiff blue wrappers with blue tape spine. 28pp (rectos only). Fine. Pristine copy of this bibliographically cryptic and homespun production -- first edition? -- that tells the tale of Jim Thorpe's Olympic teammate, the Hopi Indian (1888-1969) who participated in two running events in the 1912 Olympics and won a silver medal. Interestingly, page 6 bears a small inked correction that we suspect but cannot verify is in the author's hand. The Tucson Corral of the Westerners list this title as No. 54 in their annual publication "The Smoke Signal," although nowhere in the booklet is this so noted. Uncommon, in any case.
