Next to topmost panel title lettered in gilt. Worn cover. Most board edges worn through to underlying cardboard. Hinge ends cracking. Tight binding, no loose pages. Chapter headpieces of engraved busts & seals. First & last few leaves & text block edges lightly aged or foxed. No other flaws: no soiling, damp stains, marginalia, etc. Important history of the House of Savoy from Beroldo il Sassone to Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of Italy. Very Good book. 1st likely. Worn but tight, clean contents.

Pp.148 Photos measure 14.5X20(cm). The photographer is unidentified. G. Closs & O. Froelicher were the artists whose paintings were photographed. Three or four pages of text per photo. The photos were previously published in (3) earlier German editions but Bonney was at great liberty to make text changes for the US edition. Binding of thick bevelled boards with intricate design in embossed & gilt edge ruling around a central floral motif. Backstrip similar. Heavy edgewear, backstrip separated at rear hinge, MISSING top 2". Bright boards make for a good repair candidate. FINE photos & text, in FAIR binding. FAE.
