Antica firma di appartenenza ai frontespizi "De la Morcelle". Piccolo forellino al margine esterno bianco delle prime 4 carte del primo volume. Tagli spruzzati in rosso. Gregorio Redi, conosciuto anche come Balì Gregorio Redi o con il nome arcadico di Autone Manturese, fu una figura di spicco nella scena culturale italiana del tardo XVII e inizio XVIII secolo. Nato nel 1676 ad Arezzo, Redi visse in un'epoca di grande fermento culturale, dominata dalla rinascita degli studi classici e da un ricco dialogo fra le arti. Redi aderì all'Accademia dell'Arcadia, un celebre circolo di intellettuali fondato a Roma nel 1690, che si proponeva di promuovere un ritorno alla semplicità e purezza della poesia classica, in contrapposizione agli eccessi del Barocco. Sotto lo pseudonimo di Autone Manturese, Redi si distinse per la sua produzione poetica, attraverso la quale cercava di catturare e celebrare la bellezza della natura e dell'esperienza umana in versi chiari e armoniosi. La sua opera non si limitò alla poesia; come molti altri membri dell'Arcadia, Redi era coinvolto attivamente nel dibattito culturale del suo tempo, contribuendo anche con scritti su vari argomenti, dall'estetica alla filosofia morale. Questo impegno a tutto tondo ne fece una figura rispettata e influente nel panorama intellettuale italiano. Balì Gregorio Redi morì ad Arezzo il 13 aprile 1748, ma la sua eredità letteraria continua a essere un importante riferimento nel contesto degli studi arcadici e della letteratura italiana dell'epoca. La sua vita e le sue opere restano un vivace esempio dell'impegno per la riscoperta dei valori classici e della continua ricerca della bellezza attraverso l'arte della parola.
