The Wind Of Chance, Rene Guillot, Oxford University Press, 1955, First Edition, First Impression This is a story of a fifteen year old boy, Michel Santanrea, who spins a coin to decide his future. His adventures take him from the quay in Marseilles to the great rainforests of the Ivory Coast. The book is beautifully illustrated throughout by Pierre Collot. A UK First Edition, First Impression in very good condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the silver lettering on the spine bright. There is some lightening to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The end papers and pages are free from marks or tears. There is a neat personal inscription to the front end paper. The top edge is toned. The clipped dust jacket is in good condition with shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of spine, two small tears to the bottom corners of the spine, and two marks to the slightly darkened back cover. Will be dispatched wrapped in bubblewrap and in a cardboard box.
