Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Apparent first edition (NAP, 1937 on the title page of Volume I, 1938 on the title page of Volume II). Very rare two-volume set, I saw only one other for sale anywhere on the Internet. My set is in excellent condition, quite surprising given its age. You can see the covers in the pho…tos. They are exceptionally clean. The gilt lettering on the spines of both volumes is nicely bright. The cover edges are in excellent shape, no rubbing. The cover corners are also in excellent condition, no rubbing except for one speck-sized spot at each of the bottom corners of Volume II. The page edges of both volumes look very good. The pages in both volumes are solidly bound. The covers are nicely, tightly bound. The pages are exceptionally clean in both volumes. Scrolling through, I didn't find any instances of soiling in either. I didn't see any conspicuous creasing, no placeholder creases. There is a very light smooth crease off the outer edge of the title page of Volume II. There are no markings in either volume. There is a tiny bookseller label above the bottom corners of the front inside covers in each volume. In one it is green and in the other it is maroon. Interestingly, the labels read 'Harold Reeves, Books & Music, London, England.' There are no other attachments of any kind in either volume. In Part II of Volume I, some of the entries have a tiny pencil dash beside them on the blank margin. They could be erased if one chose to. There are no pencil marks in Part I of Volume I. There is no penciling anywhere in Volume II. Volume II has 318 pages, Volume I has 239 pages. 'Lionel Roy McColvin CBE, was a British librarian. He has been described as 'the dominant figure in British public librarianship' in the mid-20th century and a 'world leader' in the profession of librarianship.'.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Individual readiness and deployability have always been important factors in determining unit and overall Army readiness. As the Army downsizes, and the Operational Tempo and Personnel Tempo remain high or increases, individual readiness and deployability may become more critical to Army re…adiness. Maintaining a healthy and deployable force are critical components of ensuring a combat ready force. Consequently, all soldiers must be ready to deploy quickly. If the Army has a significant pool of soldiers who are medically nondeployable, it will not have the resources to continue to support operational missions. This study evaluated the effects on Army readiness of active component personnel with permanent nondeployable medical profiles (e.g., diabetes and cancer). The study assessed the efficacy of current Army policies. It also evaluated the readiness and medical reporting systems to determine the true impact of permanent nondeployable soldiers on readiness. This study concluded that profiles do not have a notable impact on Army readiness. However, the study found that the Army's readiness and medical reporting systems were unreliable and they may significantly obscure the magnitude of the nondeployable problem. In addition, Department of Defense and the Army policies do not efficiently promote a healthy and deployable force.
