Classic illustrated edition of the Sagas. Vol I is illustrated by Simon Noyes and is the first printing. The slip case is sound and clean with a couple of light scuffs and a couple of small indentations at the opening. The quarter leather binding, with blocked cloth sides designed by Simon Noyes, is bright and clean with a small pale scuff to the cloth on the front board at the top of the spine . The inner spine on the book block is curved inwards in the middle. the contents with maps by Reg Piggott at the endpapers, introduction and 16 colour plates, are in fine condiition, pp xxii; 809. Vol II is a first issue dated 2002. The slipcase has light scuffs and is in near fine condition. This volume is illustrated by John Vernon Lord, who also did the blocked design for the boards. The binding is in near fine clean condition - the inner spine is concave and the top corners have slight scuffing. The contents with maps at the endpapers, introduction and author's note and 16 colour plates, are in fine clean condition, pp xvi; 759. Please enquire if you would like to see additional images.
