Elle a été imprimée pour commémorer la fête qui s'était tenue tenue le 28 avril 1921 à l'Opéra de Paris en l'honneur de Marie Curie et de la découverte du radium, organisée à l'initiative de Pierre Lafitte et Jean d'Esme de la Revue "Je sais tout". Elle contient les discours Léon Bérard, Jean Perrin et Claudius Regaud, ainsi qu'une Ode à Madame Curie par Maurice Rostand, dont la lecture avait été faite par Sarah Bernhardt. Quelques jours après ces réjouissances, Marie Curie partait aux États-Unis pour son voyage mémoriel à l'invitation de la journaliste féministe Marie Meloney. Hommage non signé inscrit à l'encre brune sur la couverture, au professeur Hérouard; Edgar Joseph Émile Hérouard, biologiste marin, collègue de Marie Curie en tant que professeur de la Faculté des sciences de Paris. La brochure est présentée sous une jaquette factice, ornée de trois timbres originaux émis en Pologne en 1967, en l'honneur du centenaire de la naissance de l'éminente native de Varsovie (avec deux reproductions couleurs agrandies de deux de ces mêmes timbres) : Portrait de Marie Curie.
