Spine scuffed with chips at ends. Contents tight. Scattered browning. One plate [No. 2] is missing (not bound in) out of the 26 relating to the section 'Faustus: From the German to Goethe'. The final section bound in entitled 'Sixteen Outlines of Schiller's Fight with the Dragon' contains two pages of Explanation and 25 verses, no illustrations. 280mm x 210mm (11" x 8"). vii, 77p, 15pp. Embellished with Retsch's series of outlines [26 of 27 illustrations present].
