This book is from the library of Dr. James A. Stewart. Stewart was a prominent Scottish fundamentalist evangelist who also wrote books, started a publishing company and directed the Russian Bible Society. Stewart was the first preacher from the West to go behind the Iron Curtain after World War II. In 1970 there was a fire in his home leaving dark smoke marks on some books. There is no smoke odor. Section of spine covering detaching but present. Previous owner's name on front flyleaf. No other writing within.

This work prese…nts a number of religious artefacts, with descriptions and illustrations. These include pewter church vessels, ecclesiastical plates and secular plates. Braithwaite reflects on the great loss to the Church and to archeology over the centuries, whilst also honouring what items still exist. With seventy illustrations throughout. Collated, complete.
