Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. frontis engraving; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 89 pages; Royal 8vo HC. Bright, tight and exceedingly fresh in original green cloth with titles brightly in gilt to cover and paneling in blind to sides. A light moderate shelf bump to top front corner but otherwise immaculate. NF.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Presumed first edition with no title date or copyright date but preface dated 1848. Exceptionally ornate binding, elaborate gilt design, all edges gilt, beveled edges, glossy floral end papers. 291 pages, with six full page steel engravings each with tissue guard plus a steel engraved half title page. Light wear to head and heel of the spine and thus graded "good," yet is in near fine condition in all other respects, the contents particularly clean, no foxing, no owner names.

Ten steel engravings (incl frontis & t. p), 9 x 7, very decorative blindstamped leather w/gilt design in center, all edges gilt, 14-201. Covers have some shelfwear, scuffing along side edges, light wear, front inner hinge cracked, rear starting, ink inscription, light creasing, foxing, smudging, spotting, offsetting else contents good. A very attractive volume. FIRST ED.

Leather. 293p. A hardcover book rebound in brown leather with gilt trim. Very good condition; the plates are all heavily foxed; otherwise, the text is clean and the binding tight. The leather is in beautiful shape, clean and only minutely rubbed at the corners. A lovely copy, handsome on a bookshelf! Essays and poetry on Bible stories, illustrated with black and white plates. Gilt edges and an attached ribbon page marker.

Some loss to gilt tooling on spine and rear cover. Hinges starting to upper front board. Gilt edges all around. Some foxing and offsetting to pages. Binding is strong and square. Pages are clean. Book comes in protective mylar.
