Tatty but still readable copy of 'The Mother's Catechism for a Young Child; Being a Preparatory Help for the Young and Ignorant, to Their Easier Understanding The Assembly's Shorter Catechism, to Which are Added New Forms of Prayer, Graces and Hymns', by the late Rev. John Willison. It was published by Francis Orr and Sons of Glasgow. It is undated, through estimated late 1800s, and presumed first thus. It is a very small format slim paperback booklet, with pinkish paper covers and a stitched binding. There is a times table printed on the back cover. The edges of the covers are worn, and the corners are rubbed and very creased. The covers are darkened and grubby. The pages are heavily browned and creased, with scattered brown splodges, pencil marks and fingermarks throughout. Those defects aside, this is a very scarce title, the pages are all there, and the text still legible, so Fair overall. Approx. 3 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches. Images available on request.

This book offers Christians a compilation of Scripture readings and spiritual reflections designed to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the sacrament of Holy Communion. Through a series of meditations, the book explores the profound themes associated with Communion, such as the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, the believer's union with Christ, and the importance of living a life of faith and obedience. The author's insights are presented in a clear and accessible style, making this book an invaluable resource for Christians seeking to enrich their spiritual lives and strengthen their relationship with God.
