    Octavo. Pages XL and 433. Includes an outline of Suahili grammar. A labour of love completed by Lutheran Missionary Rev. Johann Ludwig Krapf of the Church Missionary Society, in East Africa. Krapf was explorer, traveller and linguist. He successfully translated the New Testament to the Kamba language and is regarded as the founding father of the Anglican church in Kenya. The book is handsomely bound in half leather with marble boards. The pages are foxed (as usual) , more pronounced to the first and last several pages. The book is without names or inscriptions. The binding is fine and in fine condition.
