John Mitford, and was generally admitted to be the most complete and correct edition that had up to that time appeared. This edition is for the most part a reprint of Mr Mitford's; the life has been carefully revised, two additional poems are included and by the kind permission of Mr. Bolton Corney, in whose possession the manuscript now is, the publishers are enabled to reprint "Vida's Game of Chess" Several illustrative notes have been added, chiefly from Northcote''s "Life of Sir Joshua Reynolds" and Mr Forster's admirable biography of the poet.Green decorative cloth hardback with black embossed design on front and spine (as image shown on ABE), Gilt lettering on front and spine. Leather Bound. Condition: Good. Leather patterned boards, patterned eps, frontispiece. Book is straight and solid with heavy wear to spine-end, corners and edges. Tissue on frontispiece is yellowed and the first pages are foxed but on the whole pages are very clean with only a dog-ear or two. The textblock is slightly buckled. None of my books are remainders, ex-library or book club editions UNLESS specified.

Condition: Fair. gently used HC, no DJ, binding loose in places, age-tanning, damage to spine, light foxing, free of markings.

Front flyleaf shows signature of former owner "Emily," whose signature does in fact resemble several authenticated examples of Emily Dickinson's, but our Emily has omitted her surname, instead providing a date of 15 Sept. 1865. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Book.
