Hardcover. 220p plus advertisements in back. A decorated green cloth hardcover book in FAIR condition. Spotty stains on front and back covers, and chafing near the bottom of the spine. The acidic paper is badly browned with age and quite brittle; the half-title and full titles pages, plus the entire preface, are cracked off near the gutter, but are still present. Top corner of table of contents is nearly chipped off. Chip off page 211-212, not impacting the readabiltity of the text. The binding itself is secure. A vintage book in poor condition, but extremely scarce regardless. The autobiography of a Baptist minister and abolitionist born into slavery but eventually emancipated.
