Red cloth covered boards: Front panel has an elaborate gilt-stamped decoration surrounding black lettering, a floral black-stamped border and additional double gilt-stamped borders around edges; gilt-stamped lettering on spine and blind-stamped double borders around edges on back panel. All external page edges are gilt. Board panels are soiled overall, heavier around edges. Edges at head and tail of board spine are crimped and fraying. Text pages are on heavy stock. All pages are disband from boards. Internal pages and engravings are clean. Overall condition is good. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition descriptions. The Influence of Society in the Formation of Character by Rev. John Graham. Dated December 6th, 1859. The extra lecture has page numbers 375 407 so from another book, but lecture 6 seems to be from another book too? As pages number 61-98. So not sure what is going on. But does seem this copy is unique, even though most other dealers & many institutions do not bother listing exactly what their books contain. This was an extremely popular series that featured many of the leading Evangelical preachers of the day.
