Condition: Good. 1962. First Edition. 150 pages. Pictorial dust jacket over blue cloth. Inscribed by various redcoats at Minehead. Black and white photographic plates throughout. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Unclipped jacket has light edge wear with minor tears and chipping. Mild rubbing and marking.

Smooth acid free paper, elegantly designed by David Cambers, with a superb text by Brian North Lee. It is contained in a black slipcase, the book itself is protected in stiff acetate, and the binding is in sewn sections. A great and scholarly tribute to a very great designer and artist. What a loss to British Art! RW was killed during a tank battle in the second world war at only 39 years old. There is an attractive blind stamp of a former owner on the front endpaper.
