The author (1872-1943), born in Dixon, Kentucky, was the husband of the very popular Louisville novelist, Alice Hegan Rice. He wrote two novels, and many short stories but was best known for his poetry and his poetic dramas. LIke fellow Louisvillian, Madison Cawein, he was a traditionalist in form and content.
