Bound in the publisher's cloth. Signed by the editor, Martin Secker to Roger Senhouse, with the inscription "To Roger Senhouse, from his obliged servant, the editor of this work, Martin Secker, June 1947". Known for being one half of the publishing house Secker & Warburg, Martin Secker was responsible for producing the work of many celebrated authors, including George Orwell, D. H. Lawrence and Norman Douglas. Inscribed here to fellow publisher, translator and member of the Bloomsbury Group, Roger Senhouse, known for his sado-masochistic sexual relationship with fellow member, Lytton Strachey. An autobiographical work of Irish-American editor and author, Frank Harris, with an introduction by Grant Richards. A comprehensive look at the life, work and influence of Harris, illustrated with a frontispiece photograph of the author, taken in 1910. Bound in the publisher's cloth. Externally, very good, with minor fading to the spine and the off mark. Cloth has split to the front joint, with backstrip lifting a little. Ink inscription to the front endpaper.
