Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the fascinating world of clay, a material that has shaped civilizations for millennia. From its origins deep within the Earth to its transformation into everyday objects, the author takes us on a journey through the science, geology, and history of clay. We learn how clay forms through the decomposition of rocks, the impact of geological forces on its deposition, and the crucial role of weathering and erosion in shaping clay deposits. The book also explores the various types of clay, such as marine, estuarine, and swamp clays, and the unique characteristics that make each type valuable for different purposes. Beyond its geological and scientific explanations, the book provides an in -depth examination of the clay industry, highlighting the methods of mining, preparing, and manufacturing clay products. The author explores the historical development of this industry, emphasizing the vital role of clay in building materials, ceramics, and other essential goods. By illuminating the complex interplay of nature and industry, the book offers a comprehensive understanding of clay's importance to both the natural world and human civilization. Condition: Gut. 1. Aufl. 95 S. : überw. Illustr. ; 27 cm; fadengeh., illustr. Orig.-Pappband. Gutes Exemplar; Einband stw. leicht berieben. - Henry Ries (geboren 22. September 1917 in Berlin; gestorben 24. . (wiki) // . (Vorwort H. Ries) ISBN 9783351024635 Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 734.
