Deckenbezug. - Zweite Ausgabe, der 1843 erstmalig erschienenen Sammlung, die großen Einfluß auf die Kirchenmusik im Großherzogtum Hessen hatte. - Die zweite Ausgabe erschien al…s reine Orgel-Partitur ohne die 4 Blätter der Vorrede und dem Register Rincks, ebenso wurden die Druckfehler und Verbesserungen eingearbeitet, so daß auch diese Blatt wegfiel (diese Blätter der Erstdrucks als Farbkopie beiliegend). - Johann Christian Heinrich Rinck (1770-1846) erhielt die erste musikalische Ausbildung von den Kirchenmusikern der nahe gelegenen Orte um Elgersberg (Thüringen). 1786 wurde er Schüler des in Erfurt wirkenden Johann Christian Kittel, der noch bei Johann Sebastian Bach studiert hatte. 1790 begann Johann Christian Heinrich Rinck seine berufliche Laufbahn als Stadtorganist in Gießen. 1803 wurde er zum Universitätsmusikdirektor von Gießen ernannt. Noch im selben Jahr siedelte er über in die Residenzstadt Darmstadt, wo er später als Hoforganist und Kammermusiker von Großherzog Ludwig I. u.a. wirkte. Darüber hinaus war er als Musiklehrer an der Stadtschule und als Pädagoge tätig. - Kaum ein Tonkünstler konnte sich während seines Lebens so vieler aus tiefer Verehrung entsprungener Beweise von Hochachtung erfreuen, wie es bei Rinck der Fall war. 1840 wurde ihm der Ehrendoktor der Universität Gießen verliehen. Als Enkelschüler Johann Sebastian Bachs und als Zeitgenosse von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart und Ludwig van Beethoven verband Johann Christian Heinrich Rinck die Einflüsse der barocken Kontrapunktik mit den neuen Klangvorstellungen von Klassik und Romantik. Durch Unterweisung im Orgelspiel und durch die Publikation zahlreicher Orgelkompositionen leistete er einen gewichtigen Beitrag für die Erneuerung und qualitative Verbesserung der protestantischen Orgelmusik zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts. Die Bewahrung eines aus dem Instrument entwickelten Musikstils und die Abgrenzung gegenüber orgelfremden Kompositionen sind wesentliche Verdienste Rincks, die bis in unserer Zeit hinein wirksam blieben. Er förderte einen Orgeltyp, der sich seit dem 18. Jahrhundert kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt hatte (siehe ADB 28, 626ff und MGG 11, Sp. 538ff). - Einband und Rücken etwas berieben. Innen nur sehr vereinzelt gering stockfleckig, einige Blätter am Rand fingerfleckig. Hinteres fliegendes Vorsatzblatt mit zeitgenössischen, handschriftl.
