He attended Auckland Grammar School (1912-1916) and took his medical training at the university of Otago. Five years of postgrad work in Britain and a few stints as on-board ships doctor gave Robb his professional grounding. In 1964 in New Delhi he was putting the finishing touches on his career. As well as developing the medical experiences of this noted surgeon, the book also unveils his philosophy of life. 201 pages of text + appendices and illus. by B/W photographs. Cond: Yellow dust jacket ( with map in blue of North and South Island) over navy blue boards. Latter, with two small bumps, is lightly worn at tips and edges. Price clipped d.j. is CRISP at all extremities. It is mylar protected and lightly soiled (back). No tears. P/O name on ffep. The main flaw is tape has left residue on jacket, end papers and pages 78 & 79. TIGHT ! Quote (p. 197): " Decisiveness is required of a surgeon at most times. It may be in summing up his advice to a patient. It may be during some emergency, or crop up in the course of a planned procedure, or occur." Size: 8vo.
