Book block solved. 4 pages title, 8 copper engravings and 8 pages excerpts from the engravings opposite. Slightly brown and finger-stained in the margins. -- Gr.-Folio ( 44,5 : 31,0 cm). Binding remains firm. Paper covers have moderate edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and curling to corners. Moderate tanning to spine and covers. Lettering is clear. Visible wear marks to covers.

Follows the course of the streams from their upland feeders deep in the heart of the Moorfoot and Lammermoor hills. Contents include Ancient Galashiels; Torwoodlee; Bowland; Luggate; Stow; Heriot; Leaderfoot; Earlston; Lauder; Innerleithen; Place Names; Glentress Water. 66 pages plus, four photographic plates, and fold-out map inside back cover. The ultra-rare dust jacket gives the name and place of the publisher which is otherwise not stated in the book itself, the book in very good condition. The jacket has traces of early sellotape strengthing but the rather attractive dust wrapper with green lettering, also featuring a map and accompanying text, is now protected and still presents well.
