Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Copyright page states "First published in Great Britain in 2013 by Sphere / Reprinted 2013 (three times)" Not price clipped; original L16.99 price showing. Corners show minor bumps and the spine is rolled a bit less than 1/4-inch -- was probably stored on its side, at some point. Sold to us by a dealer in far Cornwall who worried "The book was purchased as part of a lot of a hundred or so signed books at a specialist auction, but no mention was made of this book, although if genuine it would have been the lead item. There is the chance that it is genuine and the auction cataloger was not aware that Robert Galbraith is J.K. Rowling." Signature, which has bled slightly into the title page, looks to us like a good match for others Online and in our possession (we also offer a signed "Career of Evil"), but please examine scans. This first detective mystery in the Cormoran Strike series was well-reviewed when first released under the Galbraith nom de plume, though the secret of authorship by the creator of the Harry Potter series lasted only some weeks, and later printings (including this one) reveal to both jacket flaps "Robert Galbraith is a pseudonym for J.K. Rowling." Mystery. 449 pp. Now reduced from $2,200. Signed by Author(s).

Add to basketHardcover. 1st Edition. A fine condition, complete first edition, first printing set of all eight Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling) Cormoran Strike novels, each authentically signed by J.K. Rowling and fully authenticated by Adam Houston, widely known as "the Harry Potter specialist" and regarded as a leading authority on Jo's signature. The first six volumes were acquired by Adam Houston in 2023, while volumes seven and eight were purchased directly from their original owners shortly after publication. The set is accompanied by a full authentication package including a Letter of Authenticity and collector card. The Cormoran Strike series has become fertile ground for forgers, with numerous counterfeit signatures and holograms appearing in recent years. A fully authentic, complete signed set in such condition is particularly rare. The Cuckoo's Calling, published by Sphere in 2013, was issued before it became public knowledge that Robert Galbraith was J.K. Rowling. This copy is one of 250 signed at Goldsboro Books, London, prior to the revelation of the author's identity. It does not carry a hologram, which was not in use at that time. The book is accompanied by the original Goldsboro Books receipt dated 15th July 2013 (£16.99). Pre-revelation signed copies are among the most difficult to obtain. The Silkworm (Sphere, 2014) is a signed first edition with the official hologram affixed adjacent to the signature. Career of Evil (Sphere, 2015) was signed at Foyles and does not carry a hologram, as copies signed there were not issued with one. The dust jacket retains the Foyles "Signed First Edition" sticker. Lethal White (Sphere, 2018) is a signed first edition with the hologram present. Signed copies were distributed only as competition prizes or promotional copies. This example is accompanied by a handwritten note from the original recipient, Ellen (2022), describing how she won the book at Robinson's Bookshop in Melbourne. Authentically signed copies are notably scarce. Troubled Blood (Sphere, 2020) is a signed first edition with the hologram present. It was won by Megen Kippner in a Facebook competition run by Hachette New Zealand on 22nd December 2020, and is accompanied by a winner announcement screenshot and congratulatory note from Hachette NZ. Signed copies are among the most difficult in the series to acquire. The Ink Black Heart (Sphere, 2022) is a signed first edition bearing the "Signed by the Author" sticker and official hologram. It is accompanied by the original Waterstones receipt (£25), dispatch note dated 30th September 2022, and a handwritten letter from the original purchaser, Jason Nunn. The Running Grave (Sphere, 2023) is a signed first edition with hologram present, purchased from original owner Garry King, who acquired it from Waterstones on 13th October 2023. A copy of the original £25 receipt is included. The Hallmarked Man (Sphere, 2025) completes the series. This signed first edition was purchased directly from the original purchaser, "Cards and Sneakers," who bought it from Waterstones on publication day, with hologram affixed adjacent to the signature. Taken together, this represents an exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire a complete, fully authenticated set of all eight Cormoran Strike novels in first edition, first printing state, each signed by J.K. Rowling and supported by strong provenance. In a market increasingly affected by forgery, such a documented set represents both a significant collector's piece and a sound long-term investment. This is another paragraph Book Description: When a troubled model falls to her death from a snow-covered Mayfair balcony, it is assumed that she has committed suicide. However, her brother has his doubts, and calls in private investigator Cormoran Strike to look into the case. Strike is a war veteran - wounded both physically and psychologically - and his life is in disarray. The case gives him a financial lifeline, but it comes at a personal cost: the more he delves into the young model's complex world, the darker things get - and the closer he gets to terrible danger .A gripping, elegant mystery steeped in the atmosphere of London - from the hushed streets of Mayfair to the backstreet pubs of the East End to the bustle of Soho - The Cuckoo's Calling is a remarkable book. Introducing Cormoran Strike, this is a classic crime novel in the tradition of P. D. James and Ruth Rendell, and marks the beginning of a unique series of mysteries. Signed by Author(s).
