Hardcover. Condition: As New. Originalverpackt. Accompanying the solo exhibition at Galerie Max Hetzler, Berlin (2014),this slender publication presents a group of exciting new works by Britishcontemporary artist Robert Holyhead. Holyhead's freely brushed, intenselycolored paintings engage the tension between color and form through additionsand erasures of the painted surface with blocks, ovals and rectangles acting aspins, wedges, slots, slits and focal points. Many of Holyhead's painted shapesseem to float on the canvas and, in the artist's words, pierce the space openfor the viewer. Twenty-three color plates of the work and installation areaccompanied by London-based artist/writer David Ryan's detailed discussionon Holyhead's exquisite sense of craft and the malleability, opacity and lightof his new paintings.…

Buch. Condition: Neu.

Paperback. Condition: New. This exhibition catalog celebrates British artist Robert Holyhead's precise application and removal of paint, his colorful abstract forms and complex compositions. Full-page illustrations of each of the eight paintings from 2010 are accompanied by detailed photographs of the edge of the paintings and places where the paint has been wiped away. Includes a conversation between the artist and Anthony Spira, director of the Milton Keynes Gallery, in which Holyhead says, ''I pick up on things that are a little bit peculiar and that exist awkwardly in the world, that are already abstract . My painting presents both a type of personal language and some familiarity with the world.'' With several full-color installation views.…

Exhibition catalogue. First edition first impression 2014.646 pages. Illustrated in colour throughout. Pictorial boards. Near fine. Robert Holyhead's paintings engage with the tensions between colour and form through additions and erasures on the painted surface. Accompanying a solo exhibition at Galerie Max Hetzler in Berlin, this bilingual volume presents a group of 15 new works by the British artist. Holyhead's freely brushed, intensely coloured paintings contain a set of elements - such as blocks, ovals and rectangles - that act as pins, wedges, slots, slits and focal points. Many of Holyhead's painted shapes seemingly float on the canvas and, in the artist's words, 'pierce the space open' for the viewer. Alongside full-colour illustrations of the works and installation, David Ryan discusses the new paintings in detail, concentrating on their 'malleability of density, opacity and light'. We are specialists in Artists Monographs, Catalogues and Illustrated items. All items are as described and dispatched within 24 hours in a secure package. We are professional booksellers with 40 years experience, you may order with confidence. Other titles by this artist maybe in stock, please ask for our list or link.…
