In 4° (26,7x19 cm); tre tomi in un volume: XXIV, 552 pp., XVIII, (1), 936 pp., VII, (1), 190, (2) pp. Legatura coeva in tutta tela azzurra con titolo su fascetta in pelle in oro. Le prime 10 carte del primo volume non sono mai state tagliate e fuoriescono di un millimetro dalla legatura. Alcune sottolineature a matita rossa nelle prime 20 pagine del testo,qualche piccola ed insignificante macchiolina di foxing in poche pagnie e nel complesso esemplare in buone-ottime condizioni di conservazione. Prima edizione italiana di questo importante studio completamente dedicato alla chirurgia e all'anatomia chirurgica, illustrato da centinaia di foto e disegni, opera del più celebre medico militare francese della prima parte del XX° secolo Robert Picque. Nato a Parigi nel 1877, entrò nella Scuola di Servizio Sanitario Militare di Lione. Pubblicò quest'opera nel 1913 dopo che nello stesso anno aveva ottenuto una cattedra nell'Università di Bordeaux. Durante la prima guerra mondiale seppur in congedo organizza quello che è considerato il più famoso campo medico avanzato della Prima Guerra Mondiale a Beaurieux piccolo villaggio nella parte più orientale del Chemin des Dames. Fu tra i primi organizzatori del sistema di evacuazione aeronautica dei degenti gravi. Morì in circostanze tragiche cadendo da un aereo in fiamme nel 1927. Prima edizione di grande importanza nella storia della chirurgia.
