Pamphlet. SIGNED. The program for a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the formation of the Constitution of the US, held at Constitution Hall, Washington DC, September 16, 1937. The full title of the program is: "Meeting in Commemoration of the Sesquicentennial of the Formation of The Constitution of the United States Under the Auspices of The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the District of Columbia in Collaboration with United States Constitution Sesquicentennial Commission." Contents include: a title page; information on the provenance of the gavel, trowel, and Bible used in the ceremony; program of events for the evening; text of "The American's Creed" by William Tyler Page; lists of the Sesquicentennial Commission members, D.C. Lodge officers, and Lodge Sesquicentennial committee, and on the last page, a b&w reproduction of "We The People" (1937) by Howard Chandler Christy. The program has been SIGNED on the title page by William E. Borah, Senator from Idaho, who gave the main address that night and has been SIGNED by Robert Renic Logan, who we can not identify. Also on the title page has been mounted two copies of US postage stamp #798, the 1937 3¢ Constitution Sesquicentennial, and one copy of #795, the 1937 3¢ Northwest Ordinance of 1787. One copy of #798 has been postally canceled September 17, 1937, the first day of issue; the other two stamps have next day cancelations. Tipped-in to the inside cover is a clipped news photo of Borah and tipped-in to the inside back cover is a clipped article on the history of the painting used as model for stamp #798. First edition. Staple-bound thin card wraps + 8 pages; 1 full-page b&w illustration; 6.25 x 9.5 inches. Condition: Very Good overall with only light soiling to the covers except that the two clippings have tanned the page opposite including parts of all three stamps. Will be sandwiched securely between stiff layers of cardboard and shipped the next business day.…
