Roberto Azank, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1955, grew up in an artistic family with a grandfather who painted and a father who worked as a master embroidery designer. His early interest in art led him to win his first prize in painting at 14, followed by studies in photography and architecture at the University of Buenos Aires. Moving to the U.S. in 1979, he explored various media before dedicating himself to painting, initially with vibrant abstract acrylics and later shifting to figurative oil still lifes. By the mid-90s, after settling in New York's Catskill Mountains, Azank had developed his signature style: poised, hyper-real still lifes with bold colors and minimalist compositions that highlight everyday objects like flowers and vessels. He gained significant recognition in New York with support from notable gallery owner Robert Miller and has since shown his work across the U.S., including a decade of solo exhibitions in San Francisco and Palm Desert. Signed by Illustrator.
