There is also a very nice silver illustration on the front cover which is bright. One small circular sticker on the upper corner of the ffep. Very light shelf wear on covers and ed…ges. Text and the many b&w and color drawings and photos are clean and unmarked. Hinges are tight. Illustrated dj is in a protective mylar cover with small tears and chips on corners and spine ends. Light shelf wear and soiling to covers. Describes the "mat-symbols" which was a well defined group of Mayan sculptural and pictorial art. The designs reflect the woven pattern of the Mayan mat. "It appears that the mat and the mat design derived from it were important symbols of power among the ancient Mayas." All books are individually examined and described. Never ex-library unless explicitly described as such. Robicsek, Francis and Steven A. (illustrator).
