Original sheet music edition from the 20th Century-Fox Technicolor motion picture Centennial Summer, produced and directed by Otto Preminger and starring Jeanne Crain, Cornel Wilde, Linda Darnell, William Eythe, Walter Brennan, Constance Bennett, and Dorothy Gish. Attractive period cover design printed in black and bright pink features romantic photographic portraits framed by flowing musical notation and oversized stylized notes. The song represents one of Jerome Kern's final film compositions and reflects the lush melodic style that defined his late-career Hollywood work. Interior pages contain the complete piano-vocal arrangement with lyrics and moderate tempo markings. Rear advertising promotes Kern standards from Show Boat and Roberta, including excerpts from 'Ol' Man River,' 'Why Do I Love You?,' and 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,' adding further appeal for collectors of American musical theater and film music ephemera. Condition: Very Good. Complete and well-preserved example with strong color saturation and clean interior music pages. Original film-tie issue with contemporaneous Centennial Summer cast cover and period publisher advertisements. Jerome Kern (1885-1945) was among the most influential composers in American musical theater history, helping transform Broadway songwriting into a sophisticated dramatic art form. His collaborations with lyricists including Oscar Hammerstein II, Dorothy Fields, and Leo Robin produced enduring standards such as Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, All the Things You Are, and The Way You Look Tonight. Lyricist Leo Robin won an Academy Award for 'Thanks for the Memory' and contributed extensively to Broadway and Hollywood musicals during the 1930s-50s. Centennial Summer was released shortly after Kern's death and is often regarded as one of his final major Hollywood musical projects. Original sheet music tied to Kern's late film work remains highly collectible among fans of Broadway, classic Hollywood musicals, and American Songbook material.
