Desde la decada de los cincuenta, las escritoras mexicanas emergieron con gran fuerza creativa dentro del ambito de la literatura nacional e hispanoamericana y en los distintos generos literarios. Asi, aparecieron poetas, dramaturgas y ensayistas, como producto del gran desarrollo de la cult…ura cientifica y humanistica, la expansion de la educacion academica, la concesion a las mujeres del derecho a votar en las elecciones politicas y de un periodo de paz social y cierta estabilidad economica. Sobre todo, surgieron abundantes narradoras, tanto de cuento como de novela. Desde entonces y hasta la tercera decada del siglo XXI, la literatura femenina de Mexico tiene una fuerte presencia en America y el mundo con la produccion de numerosas obras importantes. De igual forma, las escritoras han ganado grandes premios literarios a nivel nacional e internacional y los libros creados por ellas son estudiados en las universidades. El presente libro se alza como un homenaje a cuatro narradoras que publicaron sus obras en la segunda mitad del siglo XX y en el siglo XXI. Tal libro de cinco ensayos continua la tarea de analisis de la literatura femenina de Mexico, la cual fue iniciada con la publicacion de Mexicanacion. Narrativa femenina contemporanea. Vol. 3 (2021) y Las dos Elenas: Garro y Poniatowska (2025), dos colecciones que fueron editadas por Amazon Books Editors. El caudal de obras literarias escritas por mujeres mexicanas en el siglo XX es inmenso, en medio de una sociedad patriarcal y machista. Durante la Colonia Espanola (siglos XVI-XVIII), brillo la solitaria estrella de Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz (1648-1695) en el firmamento de la Nueva Espana, quien produjo finos y cavilosos poemas, obras de teatro, cartas y textos expositivos en defensa de la mujer sometida bajo el patriarcado y con su derecho a educarse y a ser escritora. En el siglo XIX, la produccion literaria de las mujeres fue discreta. En tanto, la creacion literaria se desbordo en el siglo XX, tras el periodo de la Revolucion Mexicana (1910-1920). Ya en el siglo XXI, las mujeres constituyen una gran republica creativa dentro de Mexico y una poderosa historia literaria. Los cinco ensayos del presente volumen estudian algunas novelas y colecciones de cuentos de cuatro prominentes narradoras mexicanas de diferentes generaciones. De Luisa Josefina Hernandez (1928-2023) se incluye un examen de la novela Nostalgia de Troya (1970); de Amparo Davila (1928-2020), se revisa la coleccion de relatos Muerte en el bosque (1985); de Angeles Mastretta (1949-), se exploran la novela Ninguna eternidad como la mia (1999) y el volumen de cuentos Mujeres de ojos grandes (2006); y de Silvia Molina (1946-), se discute la novela historica La familia vino del norte (1987). Las cuatro escritoras mexicanas mencionadas despliegan sus propios temas y estilos literarios, bajo una literatura femenina y feminista y el contexto del Post-Boom y ya sea bajo la influencia decisiva del Realismo Psicologico, Social o Fantastico o la Nueva Novela Historica Hispanoamericana. Algunas exploran la psicologia de personajes masculinos como centro de sus narrativas. Hernandez construye la historia ficcional de un escritor frances egocentrico, irresponsable y machista, desde distintos puntos de vista narrativos y diferentes etapas de vida; Davila crea trece cuentos con personajes perturbados, unos ubicados en espacios urbanos realistas y otros afectados por eventos sobrenaturales; Mastretta inventa los dramas de mujeres del siglo XX que buscan su libertad personal, economica y profesional, inmersas en sociedades patriarcales; Molina se enfoca en las investigaciones historicas de una mujer que descubre las aventuras de su abuelo paterno vividas durante la Posrevolucion, envuelto en un grupo que apoya al general revol Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
