Condition: Good. Large 4to. 24.5 x 32.5cm. 2 vols. , 174, 154pp. Sheets loose as issued in original chemise, boards and slipcase. One of 750 numbered copies.Text in Latin and French, 122 woodcuts by by Maillol, 61 in each volume. Publisher's pictorial chemises and slipcases, printed with woodcuts. Rubbed and slightly soiled to slipcases and chemises, some light foxing.Maillol began work on this large project with Count Kessler of the Cranach Press in 1908 but failed to complete the woodcuts until just before he died in 1944.
