Color lithograph poster depicting an armed man captured in colorful stop-frame. Text across the top in Spanish, English, French, and Arabic. OSPAAAL logo in white to top left. Faint crease at top right corner, else Fine. Institutionally rare, with only two holdings separately noted in OCLC in the U.S., and another example at the Oakland Museum of California. In January 1966, the Cuban people hosted the Tricontinental, a conference of revolutionary movements that led to the creation of OSPAAAL, an organization dedicated to promoting anti-imperial and socialist ideals throughout the developing world. Printed in 1971, this poster commemorates the fifth anniversary of the Tricontinental Conference.…

Édition originale de cette affiche conçue par Alfredo Gonzalez Rostgaard pour commémorer le débarquement américain à Saint-Domingue, le 28 avril 1965. Octavo (20cm); white cloth-covered boards, with titling and decorations stamped in lime green on front cover; dustjacket; [8],9-148,[8]pp; with black & white illustrations throughout the text by Alfredo Rostgaard; text is entirely in Spanish. Inscribed by Guillén on the half-title page to Puerto Rican editor, translator, and literary critic Roberto Márquez and his wife: "Para Roberto y Maddie - con muchísimo cariño / Nicolas / En La Habana." Spine ends gently nudged, a few minor wrinkles to cloth at crown, else a clean, very Near Fine copy. Dustjacket shows modest wear and light rubbing, a touch of dustiness to white portions of the illustrations, else Near Fine. Late collection of lyrical poems by the native Cuban poet and activist. A nice inscription to Márquez, who has written extensively on Guillén, and has translated several of the poet's works faithfully from Spanish into English. 87848. Signed. …
