Dieser Kupferstich im Stil einer Rötelzeichnung des französischen Künstlers Roubillac (Bayonne 1739-1784) nach Vorlage von Pierre Thomas Le Clerc (ca. 1740 - 1796) zeigt zwei stehende nackte Frauen, einmal in frontaler Ansicht sowie rechts daneben im Dreiviertelprofil nach links. Der Kupferstich bildet das Deckblatt des neunten Heftes von Pierre Thomas Le Clercs mehrbändiger Zeichenschule: "Ixe Cahier De Principes De Dessein d'Après Nature Dédiés à M.r L. J. F. Lagreneé Peintre du Roi. Ancien Recteur de l'Academie Royale de Peinture et Sculpture Et Directeur de l'Academie de France à Rome. Par son très Humble et très Obéissant Serviteur et Eleve Le Clerc. A Paris chez Mondhare et Jean rue S.t Jean de Beauvais N° 4. Roubillac Sculp." Technik: Kupferstich in Rötelfarbe, Maße: Platte 306 x 243 mm, Blatt 323 x 254 mm. A rare exhibition of catalogue of paintings by Doré exhibited at the Dore Gallery, which opened in 1874 to showcase his work, and which was a testimony to the tremendous popularity he enjoyed. OCLC lists copies at Mount Holyoke and the Frick. Small tear to head of spine with some loss, else fine.
